Engineer – Solar PV Engineering Asset Management.

Main purpose of the role:

Mainly responsible for providing Engineering Asset Management to large scale Solar PV plants located in De Aar, Northern Cape, and future South African Solar PV plants. Ensuring all operational objectives are met with respect to performance and in accordance with the maintenance manuals, quality, legal compliance, environmental and safety requirements.

Tasks within the role:

• Provide Asset Management to the portfolio.
• Ensure the Power plants are NERSA / RETEC Grid code compliant and operate within parameters of the PPA. • Provide technical support with Engineering design proposals.
• Responsible for Technical support staff for site base asset administrators.
• Provide technical troubleshooting of systems during operations.
• Monitor the daily performances of the PV plants and report daily performances.
• Ensure that the site asset management technical administration is in order.
• Participate in weekly coordination meetings with Contractors, OE and GMR.
• Prepare billing and collection from fed-in-tariff company as per PPA – Eskom invoice and/or NERSA (National Energy Regulator of South Africa) reporting.
• Liaise and communicate with Operators and all project related stakeholders.
• Responsible for ad hoc site inspections and photo track reporting.
• Prepare reports for Boards, Lenders, Equity shareholders and potential investors.
• Provide technical plant performance reports in line with financial model like P50 and P90.
• Track and report overall PV Plants performances including commissioning and operations.
• Review Operators maintenance plan and monitor through different stages of the maintenance schedule with respect to the O&M Contract.
• Responsible for coordination and review of monthly progress reports prepared by contractors and provide feedback to Head of Management

Services Minimum Requirements:

• National Diploma or Degree in Engineering
