Senior Project Developer Solar PV & Wind. A leading South African-based, full-service renewable energy provider for large scale and distributed energy projects throughout Africa is seeking a Senior Project Developer with 3-5 yrs REIPPP Solar PV & Wind experience on both small and large scale RE project development.
Main purpose of job:

• You will be the manager responsible to conduct fundamental development of all projects (all permitting and contracts), manage key third party service providers, to identify and assess project opportunities of both large-scale and small scale (C&I) projects, considering all relevant criteria, commercial, technical, financial, permitting and regulator.
  In completion of this role, you will:
• Identify possible partnerships.
• Writing of proposals and presentations.
• Identify and secure suitable project locations, negotiate land leases and manage landowner relationships.
• Identify and secure suitable project grid connection options/locations, negotiate land leases and manage landowner/grid provider relationships.
• You understand and evaluate the business potential and you build business cases and develop large scale solar projects up to financial close.
• Secure a network to reach permitting for realization of projects on land and/or agree on the terms for implementation of solar PV project on rooftops of industrial buildings, or large-scale residential units.
• Be responsible for bringing forward all necessary components for a successful Due Diligence with the buy in of all stakeholders.
• Negotiate sales/purchase of new projects in solar energy in demonstrating the business case motivation and viability of such cases.
• Be responsible for the realization of the solar PV projects, to secure the installation and commissioning of the projects within agreed time frame.

Main responsibilities:

• Development of both large scale and small scale projects – wind farms.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts and other relevant bodies such as appropriate governments, regulatory bodies, and legislative officials.
• Prospecting and acquiring new projects.
• Leveraging approved fairs and exhibitions to promote the company and establish new leads.
• Expand your knowledge in renewable energy, build up long term relationships with clients through a professional and correct work ethic.
• Responsible for a smooth cooperation between the different internal departments.
• Organize, coordinate, manage and control the sales of new projects and the follow up to get the best possible results.
• Acquire a deep knowledge of project procedures (technical and administrative).
• Manage the work autonomously, ensuring accurate reporting at required timescales and show that you possess a track record in driving business through which results in an oriented mindset.
• Strong ability in building solutions and in responding to fast changing market environment.
• Communicate effectively across the organization, handover effectively to the Develop Project Management representatives and request the support of a professional back office.

Knowledge, skills, and experience required:

• Electrical or Civils Bachelor’s degree.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in REIPPP projects, and/or technical commercial areas
• Excellent English (Afrikaans will be beneficial)
• Good organizing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Good report writing and proposal writing skills.
• Entrepreneur with good social skills and a positive work spirit.
• Strong communicator, you can report and contribute to business excellence, optimize the workflows, share your experience, help across countries or regions your peers in shortening.
• Competent with rooftop projects and large-scale development of wind farms.
